Clean Harbors located in Norwell, MA is looking to add an Environmental Field Technician to join the team. The Environmental Field Technician will be responsible for providing operations and maintenance of the groundwater treatment systems using safe operating procedures. This position will also assist the CHES Environmental Science group with soil and groundwater sample events.

Responsibilities:
- Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times;
- Complete site visits and check groundwater treatment systems;
- Inspects and maintains sewage lift-stations and all connecting piping;
- Site operation checks to include monitoring gauges, meters and control panels; while recording and interpreting readings;
- Troubleshoots and completes system repairs of valves and pumps;
- Assists in the operations and maintenance of groundwater treatment equipment; including confused space entry and OSHA- Level C activities;
- Collects and processes water samples;
- Coordinates with management team regarding purchases needed for services;
- Completes periodic field inspections to monitor and maintain treatment system operations; including upkeep, repair and installations;
- Assist with projects and work under the direction of an environmental scientist to complete soil and groundwater sample events at locations predominately in MA. At times sampling events will be completed at other New England locations and from time to time to CHES facilities nationwide;
- All other duties as necessary per Management.
What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?
- High School Diploma or equivalent required;
- Valid Drivers License;
- Demonstrated background in the field of water maintenance or groundwater system maintenance and sampling preferred;
- Demonstrated background in water or wastewater treatment preferred;
- Certification in wastewater treatment is preferred;
- OSHA 40 Hazwoper preferred;
- Ability to read technical manuals and publications;
- Ability to work in a team environment.
