Our Chicago, IL location is currently looking for a Facility Maintenance Repair II to join the team! The Facility Maintenance Repair is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance / troubleshooting on equipment throughout the facility. We are searching for a safety-minded individual with a strong electrical / mechanical background with the ability to learn and grow with our team. Clean Harbors will send you and cover the expense for retaining a Stationary Engineer License. Hours: 1st Shift

Responsibilities:
- Ensures Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times.
- Responsible for daily directing and performing preventative and routine maintenance on a variety of equipment including, but not limited to: pumps, compressors, vehicles, basic instrumentation, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and other equipment.
- You must be willing to obtain a Stationary Engineer license, Clean Harbors will cover this expense.
- Diagnosing failures of vehicles and equipment, disassembling, repairing, and re-assembling parts as necessary.
- Advises plant personnel on maintenance equipment related concerns.
- Is responsible for the daily scheduling and prioritization of Maintenance activities.
- Provides leadership and direction, when required, to the other Maintenance Technicians while promoting a team-oriented work environment;
What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?
- Previous experience in preventative maintenance and / or basic installations of one or more of the following: Electrical, Pipe fitting, Welding, Boilers, Mechanics is required;
- 1-2 plus years of plant or production experience is required;
- Any electrical certifications are considered a strong asset (Journeyman Electrician);
- Forklift operator certification or experience is an asset;
- Valid Driver's License and Clean 3 year MVR is required;
- Basic proficiency in electrical, pipe fitting, mechanical knowledge preferred;
