As a Benefits Manager, a typical day may include:
As an integral part of our Human Resources department, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing our employee benefits programs. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that our benefits offerings align with our strategic goals, are administered in accordance with legal requirements.
What you’ll do:
- Benefits Analysis and Strategy:
- Analyze Benefits Data: Dive deep into our benefits data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies. Understand utilization rates, cost drivers, and employee satisfaction levels.
- Claims and Utilization Analysis: Analyze claims data to determine trends. Collaborate with insurance providers, brokers, and internal stakeholders to pinpoint contributing factors.
- Recommendations: Provide actionable recommendations based on data insights to optimize benefit plans and control costs.
- Benefits Program Management:
- Review: review and enhance our benefits packages. Ensure they remain competitive, attractive, and compliant.
- Legislative Compliance: Stay informed about labor legislation related to benefits. Ensure our plans adhere to legal requirements.
- Reconciliations: Ensure payroll data, employee elections, billing, and accounting records are aligned.
- Employee Engagement: Tailor benefit programs to meet the diverse needs of our workforce. Foster employee engagement through well-structured offerings and wellness initiatives.
- Open Enrollment Manage annual open enrollment.
3. Collaboration and Communication:
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Legal, and Operations, to align benefits strategies with overall business objectives.
- Employee Education: Communicate benefits information effectively to employees. Conduct workshops, webinars, and Q&A sessions.
4. Data-Driven Decision-Making:
- Benchmarking: Keep track of industry standards and benchmark our benefits against competitors.
- Cost-Benefit Analysis: Evaluate the impact of benefit changes on the organization’s bottom line.
- Predictive Modeling: Use data models to forecast future benefit costs and trends.
What you bring to the table:
- Experience: 3+ years’ experience as a benefits Manager and managing open enrollments.
- Technical Skills: ADP core, ADP benefits enrollment platform, MS Excel, HRIS or payroll software experience.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Benefits certification preferred.
