Additional Information About the Role
- Evening Shift – 4 pm-12:30 am + alternating weekends (includes differential pay)
- Overnight shift - 11 PM – 7:30 AM + alternating weekends (Includes differential pay)
- Taking calls at our Call Center from clients in crisis and providing resources to screening/setting folks up for an intake at SDA
- Ideal Skill Set: Experience with crisis support, independent worker, general knowledge about DMH programming is a bonus but not necessary
- MUST HAVE skills for this position - Technology – everything is on the computer so this person needs to be very skilled with Teams, Outlook, and will be learning our internal communication systems (myAvatar the EMR and our phone system); strong experience working with behavioral health clients in crisis
- Job responsibilities: Providing crisis support to callers in need/dispatching Mobile Crisis teams as needed, coordinating care for active clients that are calling in for support from their team members, screening individuals for BJC BH services, providing community referrals as needed
Overview
BJC Behavioral Health is a community health center that provides and coordinates behavioral health services for more than 8,000 seriously mentally ill adults and seriously emotionally disturbed children in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. Franois, Iron and Washington counties. As an Administrative Agent of the Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH), BJC Behavioral Health serves as a major point of entry for people eligible for mental health services funded by DMH and is responsible for serving as gatekeeper to the public mental health system.
Inform, outreach, screen for services, and successfully refer people to the appropriate services within the organization and larger community in a manner that is timely and respectful.

Role Purpose
Provide pre-admission screening for individuals seeking services and linkage to internal/external resources for clients admitted to the agency.
Responsibilities
Provides short term assistance to clients.
Assists client in accessing medical, financial and housing resources.
Assists in creating community support systems for clients.
Screens individuals requesting services and determines appropriate course of action.
