Major Responsibilities:• Develop auditing automation strategies for auditing transportation freight invoices and ensuring proper controls are in place in freight auditing and Invoice payment systems.• Create a “learn by doing” environment by engaging with financial analysts and business partners to promote and encourage continued customer focus and cost reduction• Partner with your team and oversee auditing operations, develop analytical models / automation efforts while overseeing their continuous innovation and communication to both your operations & other business partners• Work with technology teams and payable Teams to ensure timely freight invoice payments and provide excellent carrier experience.• Oversee the rollout of freight payment processes and systems in LATAM and other new regions• Manage and participate in finance and accounting activities globally and multiple currencies.• Recommend, develop, and implement policies and programs that guide the organization in accurately estimating freight cost and ensure payment accuracy.• Create a “learn by doing” environment by engaging with financial analysts and business partners to promote and encourage continued customer focus and cost reduction.• Work with technology teams to ensure that key decision data is accurate, automated and timely.• Identify, develop, manage, and execute analyses to uncover areas of opportunity and present written business recommendations.• Analyze and solve business problems at their root.Job Responsibilities include:• Develop auditing automation strategies for auditing transportation freight invoices and ensuring proper controls are in place in freight auditing and Invoice payment systems.• Recommend, develop, and implement policies and programs that guide the organization in accurately estimating freight cost and ensure invoice accuracy.• Own Controllership activities - Auditing Freight invoices for billing issues or manifest issues if any. Ensure proper controls in place in freight auditing and Invoice payment systems.• Create a “learn by doing” environment by engaging with financial analysts and business partners to promote and encourage continued customer focus and cost reduction.• Partner with your team and oversee the auditing operations and develop analytical models / SQL automation efforts while overseeing their continuous innovation and communication to both your operations & other business partners.• Work with technology teams ( TFS) and AP Teams to ensure timely freight invoice payments and avoid carrier escalations.• Develop automation for freight cost reporting and analytics for business partners.• Design exception based reporting highlighting and analyzing outliers.• Weekly discussions reporting on pricing gaps, spot quotes, and areas of improvement.• Monthly market reports benchmarking internal data to market data. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS• BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or similar discipline with analytical bias.• 6+ years of experience in supply chain management, global transportation, and data interpretation of business impact and results• 6+ years of demonstrated financial acumen and analytical experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of business impact and results• 6+ years of advanced proficiency in Excel (pivots, lookups, etc.)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS• Fluent in Portuguese and Spanish• MBA and/ or Professional certification (CPA/CMA/Qualified Accounting certificate) + relevant experience• Proven experience within a Logistics, Transportation, or Distribution Center processes and systems• Highly analytical, detail oriented and strong business sense; proven ability to manage new ideas and creative solutions• Manage and prioritize workload and achieve effective results in a fast-paced, growing and ambiguous environment• Solid Project Management Skills• Basic experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (i.e. SQL, Tableau, MSAccess, Essbase and/or Cognos) and other financial systems such (i.e. Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
