What You’ll Work On
The Stockroom Coordinator is responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the Stockroom and performing Procurement duties including preparing, processing, and verifying orders. This role is also responsible for support and training of users in the Ariba system. The Coordinator will learn all aspects of the Stockroom Clerk role and assist in maintaining stock items. Other duties include but are not limited to resolving issues related to shipment, vendor issues, completion of cycle counts, expediting orders and answering vendor questions. Special projects relating to stockroom or purchasing may be assigned. The majority of time is spent utilizing computer applications associated with Purchasing and Inventory control to ensure Procurement needs are met along with maintaining the integrity of the inventory.
- Coordinating and reviewing/verifying the stockroom documents (i.e. Stock Adds, Obsoletes, PO's, KPl's). Assure that documents are controlled and maintained according to Division and plant record retention requirements.
- Train and be familiar with all functions of the Stockroom Purchasing Coordinator, Stockroom Clerk, and provide back up when necessary.
- Assure that documents are controlled and maintained according to Division and plant record retention requirements.
- Oversee the cycle counting process and investigate discrepancies, adjusting inventory as needed.
- Vendor contacts – keep an open line of communication needed for placing orders and obtaining information.
- Work closely with maintenance in locating needed items to avoid downtime.
- Supports plant users in the Ariba system with requisitions, invoicing, and overall-system functionality.
- Assist all areas in the plant concerning requisitions and purchase orders.
- Assist in reducing stockroom spare parts inventory.
- Responsible for the audit of all purchases generated through the stockroom requisitioning process according to corporate policy and procedure. This includes confirmation that all proper authorizations have been obtained and that all other Corporate and Division guidelines have been followed.
- Utilize Maximo/SAP and other computer systems to monitor inventory levels
- The verification of invoices, credit memos and receipt discrepancies. Investigates and resolves open invoice issues.
- Works with stock clerks to resolve wrong parts issues, communicating to suppliers to help resolve these issues.
- Reconcile all outstanding credits due to the return of materials to the vendor. All quantities returned and the reason for the return must be verified and made satisfactory to both parties.
- Works with the Customs teams to ensure proper paperwork and shipping of international orders.
You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 3-5 years of experience in a combination of Materials Management, Finance, Customer Service, and/or Plant Operations OR a Bachelors Degree
- High level of attention to detail
- Good written and verbal communication
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills to be utilized in investigating order discrepancies and expediting outstanding/rush orders
- Must be computer literate. The job requires working with a complex computer inventory accounting system
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Able to perform a varied number of duties with high levels of interruptions
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a technical field such as Mechanical or Electrical Maintenance
- Experience with buying and/or researching parts

The base pay for this position is $20.60 – $41.20 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
