The Opportunity
The Sr. Manager, Supply Chain position works out of our Scarborough, Maine location in the Abbott Rapid Diagnostics Division. We’re empowering smarter medical and economic decision making to help transform the way people manage their health at all stages of life. Every day, more than 10 million tests are run on Abbott’s diagnostics instruments, providing lab results for millions of people.
This role has ownership of supply chain through managers (and will also have individual contributor direct reports) of assigned product lines/value streams and is responsible for some or all of the following supply chain sub disciplines: demand planning, product life cycle planning, purchasing, production scheduling, inventory management, customer service, freight and logistics and warehouse efficiency. Responsible for also managing metrics to scorecard our performance in these areas.
What You’ll Work On
Provide leadership and partner with key stake holders across the entity to drive process improvement and meet business objectives.
Provide leadership to Supply Chain department managers through setting goals which align to the entity’s annual operating plans and managing the execution of goals through coaching and mentoring.
Develop a culture of continuous improvement, professional growth, cross functional/cross divisional collaboration and goal planning and execution.
Develop and communicate plans which ensure entity resources are optimized and service levels are not sacrificed and adequate inventory exists to support the organization.
Direct teams, remove obstacles and implement practices which ensures customers receive product in a timely manner using cost efficient processes (workforce planning, inventory management, purchasing, systems utilization).
Analyze team recommendations, then prepare, present, obtains buy in, communicates and implements annual plans for assigned product lines.
Prepare Supply Chain budget for assigned value stream/product lines.
Identify and implement actions to maximize synergistic opportunities between all global entities.
Hire and retain a diverse, highly qualified staff and provides ongoing performance feedback.
Maintain a safe and professional work environment.
Comply with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business administration or supply chain related body of knowledge or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
Minimum 12 years Supply Chain experience with pattern of progressing responsibilities.
7 years leading Supply Chain teams.
5 years of experience in the Medical Device industry.
7 years of experience working with Supply Chain software, preferably SAP.
Experience with global supply chain teams including policy and procedure development, strategy formulation, regulatory compliance, quality systems and product life cycle planning.
Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross division business unit model preferred.
Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
Strong leadership skills, including the ability to set goals and provide positive and constructive feedback respectfully to build positive relationships and improve business results.
Multi-tasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills and ability to hold others accountable.
Ability to travel approximately 25%, including internationally.
Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced changing environment.
Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.

The base pay for this position is $125,300.00 – $250,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
