ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Actively support the supervisor in the leadership of the receiving team to ensure the department delivers the highest levels of safety, quality, and overall performance.• Provide training, instruction, and evaluation of associates on job activities to support department objectives.• Welcome new hires to the team, promote teamwork, make sure processes are covered• Assist in the workflow of associates• In coordination with the supervisor help direct workflow, check on the progress of deliverables, and support continuous improvement initiatives.• Investigate or correct concerns• Recommend measures to improve methods, performance, over overall quality• Provide good communication and timely follow-up to questions• Regular communication with supervisor, review associate problems, concerns, and make recommendations.• Suggest quality countermeasures, champion the quality quest• Work in a fast-paced environment performing receiving processes and procedures• Unloads incoming product and ensures the accuracy of received shipment.• Process paperwork effectively; interact with other departments• Verification of incoming shipments with high attention to detail• Preparing product to feed lines and or prepare for the next stage of processing• Ensure conformance to company standards and customer specifications• Assist in cleanliness of general work area• Responsible for receiving storing, and distributing product according to customer and production schedules• Safely operate lift truck and walkie and perform material handling functions.• Ability to rotate raw product multiple times daily and assist with inventory management• Unload trucks as needed• General housekeeping in the receiving area.• Follow all Food Safety requirements and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)• Must have good communication skills, be a self-starter, and be a team player• Ability to work days and hours that can change on a regular basis• Comply with food safety practices and all applicable requirements as they pertain to SQF and that are maintained• Support company driven food safety improvement initiatives• Additional duties as assigned by manager
RELATIONSHIPS• Internal: Operations, production management, peers, co-workers
WORK ENVIRONMENT• Work continually in refrigerated environment 35° F- 45° F degrees
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS• Able to work overtime as needed with or without notice
EDUCATION / TRAINING• High school diploma or GED preferred• Basic Reading, Writing, and Math Skills
RELATED EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS• Experience in production, warehouse, food processing, manufacturing food production or food service warehouse environment.• Previous forklift experience
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES• Perform various roles including activities such as product receiving and selection, packaging, sorting, reboxing, marination, further processing and facility sanitation while adhering to company manufacturing requirements and safety regulations.• Positive attitude• Ability to work a flexible schedule including overtime.• Strong attention to detail• Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time• Load and unload trucks in a timely manner• Ability to work in a refrigerated warehouse environment
