Flexible Work Policy: The Director, Logistics Fleet position has been segmented as Hybrid, meaning the work is a combination of onsite and virtual. This position is based out of our corporate headquarters in Rosemont, IL.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES• Provide enterprise leadership by developing, motivating and instilling confidence in associates; provide day-to-day leadership and management that mirrors to core values of the company• Identify service improving and cost savings fleet opportunities to expand managed freight• Align and build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders• Design strategic plans leveraging internal and dedicated partner solutions• Direct, manage, and measure project execution• Present strategic progress and results to US Foods executive leadership team• Be a Change Agent that drives innovation and transformation through continually seeking and implementing disruptive solutions for customers, associates and supply chain partners• Motivate and lead a high-performance management culture; attract, recruit, hire and retain talented associates; provide mentoring and coaching to all members of the team as a cornerstone to achieving higher personal effectiveness and continuing career development• Establishes, monitors and is accountable for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that lead to optimized capacity, cost, and consistent service; inclusive of freight income, on-time delivery, managed case percentage, margin, utilization, productivity, service and other expectations• Other duties as assigned by managerSUPERVISION:Leads 4 -10 direct reports including analyst, Sr analyst, lead analyst and manager.RELATIONSHIPS:Internal:Outbound logistics, operations, replenishment, finance, categoryExternal:Third party carriers, product vendorsQUALIFICATIONSEducation/Training:• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in supply chain, logistics, business or management; advanced degree preferred
Related Experience/Requirements:• Must possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in logistics or other relevant area• Prior experience working in a large fast paced foodservice purchasing and/or logistics environment strongly desired• Minimum 3 years’ prior experience supervising subordinates preferred• Experience in strategic planning and execution• Knowledge of leadership, communication and public relations techniques to interact with a variety of people• Strong presentation skills with deep business and financial acumen; work requires professional written, verbal and interpersonal skills• Proven ability to motivate teams and associates towards successful goal accomplishment; ability to coach, develop and grow associate skills• Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills; proven ability to manage several projects at one time• Proven ability to positively impact P&L results and achieve target expectationsKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:• Excellent people development and interpersonal skills• Strong written and verbal communication skills• Excellent analytical skills• Working knowledge of inbound logistics and warehouse operations• Experience in tactical project management and in-depth knowledge of logistics functions are required• Must be able to manage successful relationships with the operating markets• Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word required• Requires (20%) overnight travel
