ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Verify incoming raw material check, including trailer inspection (cleanliness, temperature, overall conditions), box inspection (intact, undamaged), product appearance & temperature, adherence to product purchasing specifications and weightOversee verification of outgoing finished product inspection. Examine product returns and determine product disposition based on limits of the return policy.Obtain environmental samples for Listeria and before/after swabs of antimicrobial spray.Collect samples for USDA Testing.Align COA's and PO's, with incoming raw material cases for grind.Print retail labels for RTE Packaging, scan for potential labeling issues.Create nutritional information using Genesis R&D software. Complete spec sheets for new item numbers, gather information from operations team while acting as the primary liaison between Aurora facility and the PIM team; facilitate and operate PIM eEnable. Complete and submit regular reports for statistical or operational analysis.Perform 3rd party audit preparation and supplier audits as necessary. This role is the Subject Matter Expert in the FSQA dept Bilingual in Spanish is a plus SUPERVISION The incumbent is not required to provide direct supervision for any position.RELATIONSHIPSInternal: The incumbent is required to interact with employees, customers, and vendors at all levels of responsibility throughout the company in a professional manner.External: USDA/FDA, local authorities, auditing companies, vendors and customers. QUALIFICATIONSFormal training/certification in Animal Science/Food Safety preferredMinimum 2 years of Food Safety and Quality experience
Preferred 5 years of experience in a food service processing & distribution environmentKnowledge/Skills/Abilities: Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize required, critical thinking and analytical skills Strong interpersonal skill required, including the ability to relate to and positively influence associates and third parties at all organizational levelsHACCP GFSI knowledge required
