Urgent Team is looking for experienced Medical Assistants to join our team at Baptist Health Urgent Care in Fort Smith, AR. The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a Medical Assistant. Flexible availability, including both weekdays and weekends, is preferred.

Baptist Health Urgent Care’s convenient, walk-in centers provide a range of healthcare services including treatments for injuries and illnesses, occupational health and wellness care. The centers are open seven days a week: Mon. to Fri., 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Please note, our Fort Smith-Northside hours are 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. JOB SUMMARY:The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing basic clinical care to patients in alignment with their medical education. Our PRN (per diem) team members are scheduled on an as-needed basis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive. Other duties may be assigned.• Promptly greets patients when entering waiting area, exam room, and laboratory or x-ray room• Consistently communicates with patients on wait times; provides direction to the next step in the treatment process• Provides solutions to patient problems and recognizes and seeks help in emergent/hazardous situations• Executes follow-up calls with a sense of urgency• Assist front desk personnel with patient check in/out procedures when necessary• Obtains and accurately documents patient vital signs and weight, takes brief history, past medical, family and social history current medications, allergies and other pertinent historical information as appropriate• Assists with patient transfers• Assists with procedures directly supervised by the provider• Follows documentation procedures and completes required documentation related to patient visit.
WHAT'S REQUIRED?• High school diploma or equivalent • BLS Certification • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred• Medical Assistant Certificate or equivalent experience is preferred
