Description Summary:Functions as a competent clinical nurse responsible for the coordination, supervision, and evaluation of nursing student educational experiences.
Work Schedule: PRN WeekendClinical teaching time is one shift on a weekend day (either a Saturday or Sunday); 12 hours shift. Location for teaching could be a University Hospital, Longs Peak Hospital, Highlands Ranch Hospital, which will depend on the applicant's preference.Responsibilities:
- Facilitates hospital orientation for nursing students. Collaborates with the academic institution's course coordinator to plan course content, objectives, and learning activities. Coordinates student nurse clinical experiences in collaboration with nurse educators and preceptors.
- Provides clinical supervision and evaluation of students, in coordination with assigned preceptors. Coordinates and conducts clinical conferences with students, to meet the educational objectives of the course.
- Participates in direct patient care activities to maintain clinical competence. Independently administers medications per licensure authority, assesses and reassesses effects of these medications, documents administration in a timely manner per policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Provides assistance and consultation to preceptors for problem-solving and implementation of course objectives. Collaborates with leadership to develop goals and objectives for education and training programs as assigned. May include Multidisciplinary Grand Rounds: Advanced Care Partner Program: Basic and Advanced Preceptor Program(s); and RN Orientation. Supports efforts in professional nursing practice quality and outcomes activities. Maintains and reports on data-related outcomes to assigned program.
- Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements:
- Minimum Required Education: BSN from an accredited or state board of nursing approved program. Master's degree is preferred. Required Licensure/Certification: State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider and any relevant certification as determined at position level. Minimum Experience:
- The applicant must have a minimum of 3 years of acute care experience, or experience in specialty (such as OB or Mental Health
- The applicant must have precepting experience with either new graduate nurses, new hires or students, clinical teaching with undergraduate students is preferred.
The pay range for this position is: $36.47 - $56.52 / hour.
