- 1. Coordinates activities/tasks to maintain compliance and accreditation with the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) and the American College of Radiology (ACR). 2. Demonstrates high-level knowledge of established protocols and equipment operation when performing quality control testing. Provides instruction and feedback to technologists. 3. Works closely with the Mammography Technologists, Physicians, RNs, Physicists and Bio Med to ensure the department operates within compliance of MQSA regulations. 4. Provide QC resources and education to all Carle Health Greater Peoria mammography sites. 5. Prepares/modifies/updates all Quality control documentation forms for clinics. 6. Performs frequent review of all clinics’ QC records with onsite visits to ensure compliance with MQSA. 7. Maintains and monitors position required licensure and certifications for team. 8. Coordinates all annual Inspections and documentation required by MQSA or ACR. 9. Works together with radiologists, manager, sales representatives and purchasing to assure a cost-effective inventory management process. 10. Assumes responsibility to provide a quality-learning environment for technologists, patients, patient’s families, students, and coworkers. 11. Responsible for contributing to staff meetings, organizing in-services, conducting continuing education and quality assurance work as required by the department. 12. During system failure, performs section down-time procedures and immediately reports to manager/ director any identified gaps/barriers. 19. Coaches and mentor’s others relating to specific aspects of the job. 20. Provides leadership and training to students, technologists, and other staff members. 21. In a self-directed and timely manner, completes mandatory in-services and continuing education requirements for the institution, division, and section, including but not limited to 22. Orientation to new equipment 23. Ensures correct imaging site, positioning, annotation, and parameters. 24. Responsible for independent and proficient operation of all assigned imaging equipment including quality assurance activities and collaborating with appropriate parties to resolve image quality issues or concerns. 25. Communicates all equipment malfunctions to the Biomed, Hologic, supervisor and manager with appropriate information readily available. 26. Monitors & assists with equipment maintenance logs (e.g., refrigerator, temperature logs etc.). 27. Other duties as assigned by Mammography Supervisor
