What we need The Senior Implementation Program Manager will work with cross-functional leaders including design, engineering, supply chain, finance, installation, commissioning, testing, operations, suppliers, and the customer to plan and implement automation solutions at client sites. The Sr PM's primary goal is to ensure the teams are aligned, plans are executed, issues/risks are managed effectively, and communications are crisp to ensure successful execution of projects and programs. This position will be a highly visible role and will interact with all departments and levels across the company including executive management. This role may have supervisory responsibilities over one or more project managers.
Hybrid, travel-based position. For this hybrid role, qualified candidates must reside within a reasonable proximity to our site near Dallas, TX.
What we do Our Project Management team plays a critical role in technical automation projects, ensuring that the project is successfully executed, on time, and within budget. They serve as a key liaison between technical teams, stakeholders, and management, ensuring that the project is executed smoothly and successfully, meeting its objectives and delivering value to the organization.
What you'll do
- Lead multidisciplinary teams through project development, from conception through completion in accordance with program objectives .
- Work closely with engineering managers and leads, product managers/owners, to ensure rapid execution and on time, high quality delivery of complex NPD programs. Interact with and motivate talented engineering teams across multiple locations, harness their high energy to deliver high quality products.
- Foster a culture focused on transparency, speed of decision-making, and a synchronized partnership within product teams.
- Facilitate the resolution of issues, risks, and challenges that surface in the deployment process.
- Lean-focused, continual improvement of new standards, processes and procedures that streamline interactions and communication across teams.
- Facilitate cross-functional meetings and regularly communicate initiative status to teams and senior management.
- Work with product management, sales, and finance to make sure business plans for each initiative are sound and optimized .
- Responsible for overall success of program(s), which includes cost, schedule, quality.
- Reviews status and monitors variances on projects, plans and mitigates risks, and provides necessary updates to internal leadership and to the client.
- Serve as the conduit for communication from the client to related parties within the company and to the subcontractors.
What y ou'll n eed
- Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline or construction management or equivalent years of experience.
- 7+ years of program management expertise in distribution and material handling systems.
- Experience with industrial/robotic automation projects and ASRS projects.
- Experience with design/build, construction management, and installation project/program management.
- Good negotiation and relationship skills, both in directing the technical team and ability to manage and reach solutions to competing priorities.
- Experience with using metrics and data analysis to drive process improvements.
- Ability to provide critical technical thinking at the team level to trigger appropriate discussions around requirements, design, and process challenges that the team may face.
- PMP certification preferred .
- Ability to travel up to 80%.
Physical & Environment Requirements
- Hybrid, travel-based position. For this hybrid role, qualified candidates must reside within a reasonable proximity to our site near Dallas, TX.
- Travel is required up to 80% of the time. Employee must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations. Our main office is in Wilmington, MA. The person taking this position will be required to perform work at our customer installation locations for extended periods of time where equipment is installed and ready for commissioning.
- The employee is responsible to own a credit card and manage expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.
- The employee is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms .
- The employee is routinely required to work at heights of up to 45 feet and within restrictive areas of 24 inches. to stand; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl .
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds .
- Must comply with all safety requirements and protocols, including without limitation Lock out tag out safety protocols and fall protection safety protocols .
- Approximately 75% of time will be spent on a construction site with PPE required (hard hat, safety vest, steel toes, eyeglasses, ear protection, fall protection (e.g., safety harness).
- There will be steep stairs to climb into the structure. You may be required to routinely walk up and down stairs to navigate the automation structure.
- You will regularly be near railings that are high off the ground .
- Subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily temperature changes. Must be capable of working in temperatures ranging from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit.
