Department Details The Good Samaritan Society has begun their journey to becoming a High Reliability Organization. This journey includes building a comprehensive Clinical Risk team who will build analysis tools, templates and training resources to be utilized by over 200 location leaders. This team will also assist location leaders with apparent cause analysis and regional leaders with root cause analysis. This team will be managed by an individual with 23+ years of Long Term Care operations, quality and risk experience. There is no deadline for this posting as we accept applications on an ongoing basis.
Job Summary Actively participates in the overall risk management program for Sanford by identifying potential risks within Health Services division facilities. Responsible for monitoring on-line safety variance reporting and working with accountable leaders to investigate reports related to patients, visitors, physicians and employees. Develops and monitors appropriate indicators for risk management. Collaborates with peers in Clinical Performance Improvement (CPI), Infection Prevention and Control, Compliance, Regulatory, Claims and others to identify and facilitate improvement initiatives based upon findings of event analysis. Compiles and analyzes risk management information for dissemination to management. Prepares summaries for tracking and trending data generated. This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, written and verbal communication skills as well as a strong clinical background. Must have the ability to use independent judgment in executing professional decisions. Critical thinking and problem solving skills essential. Excellent interpersonal relationship skills are critical to managing groups and dealing with sensitive topics, and working towards conflict resolution in stressful situations. Must have comprehensive knowledge of regulatory, licensure and accreditation regulations related to risk management.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in healthcare related field, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Five years clinical experience required. Knowledge of regulatory, licensure and accreditation regulations related to risk management is desired. Unencumbered registered nurse (RN) license with the State Board of Nursing required. Must maintain any certification/licensure as required by profession state(s) of practice and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges as required by position.
