Position Purpose:
Promote the prevention concepts of the Drug/Alcohol Prevention Series and work cooperatively with all Rosecrance staff and program participants to implement a prevention plan and goal for participants in the project. Provide continuity of program services in an ethical, legal and moral manner within a safe and therapeutic environment, consistent with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards.
Qualifications/Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree education, social work, psychology, community health, or related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in prevention
- Experience in prevention programming, addictions treatment strongly preferred.
- Ability to coordinate and present programs to community professionals, parents or community resources
- Ability to facilitate prevention curriculum to children, adolescents and parents
- Ability to present prevention curriculum to middle school students in the school setting and network with school staff
- Experience in public speaking.
- Flexibility depending on schedule requirements.
- Valid Illinois driver’s license
Essential Responsibilities:
- Work with supervisor to develop a plan to meet the goals and objectives articulated by the prevention funding requirements for designated area.
- Implement a plan to accomplish the goals and objectives of the prevention funding for designated area.
- Initiates and develops contact with various organizations, target groups, and individuals to market Prevention Strategies, with the emphasis of working relationships between those groups.
- Develop and host on-going meetings with external agencies and individuals to present and market Prevention strategies
- Provide technical assistance and consultation services concerning prevention strategies and services to schools, community groups, other providers, and community members.
- Present workshops, lectures and training for professionals, volunteers, and community groups.
- Assist with recruitment of possible Regional Advisory Board members.
- Designs and develops presentations on subjects related to chemical dependency.
- Works with Prevention Team to facilitate training workshops for professionals, volunteers, and community groups.
- Evaluates curriculums/formats which are utilized in service areas, by responding to completed evaluations and implementing needs assessments.
- Represents Rosecrance at community functions such as health fairs, school substance activities, Operation Snowball, etc.
- Serve as a member of the Prevention Team and participate in all team meetings and activities.
- Understand and comply with all of the principles established by the Rosecrance Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.
- Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every customer.
- Serve as a role model for other staff, clients and customers and demonstrate positive guest relations in representing Rosecrance.
- Assume other related responsibilities as assigned by management.
