Overview:
In Norman Regional Hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU), patients are treated for a wide variety of critical illnesses, including strokes, cardiac interventions, and post-operative open heart surgery.

Responsibilities:
RN essential functions include, but are not limited to:
- Collaboration with other health professionals, assessment & analyzing assessment data
- Establishing goals, planning care strategy, establishing priorities of care & implementing care
- Delegating tasks safely, providing safe direct and indirect nursing care, evaluating responses to interventions
- Performing additional nursing functions in accordance with knowledge and skills acquired beyond basic nursing preparation
- In collaboration with the physician you will provide total patient nursing care by assisting, leading, and/or directing care with a multi-disciplinary team of care providers. NRH ICU cares for adolescent through geriatric patient
- NRH utilizes the Meditech EMR system, Mobilab, and bedside scanning technology
Qualifications:
Education
- Diploma or Associate’s degree (ADN) required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred
Experience
- Previous experience in healthcare field preferred
- RN III eligibility requires two years of nursing experience
Licensure/Certification
- Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license or active Multistate RN license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training or retraining is required within 6 months of hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required to be maintained through re-training for duration of employment
Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Critical Care RN required classes to include basic arrhythmia, basic 12 lead, advance 12 lead, hemodynamic monitoring, mechanical ventilation, basic pacemaker, PIRRT, and Arctic Sun within 12 months of hire
- Critical Care RN will be required to obtain and maintain critical care competencies as designated by The Joint Commission and/or Nurse Manager
- All required training and classes are provided by Norman Regional Hospital during employment
