Job Description Summary
The lnterventional Radiology Technologist II (IRT II) reports directly to the Vascular and lnterventional Radiology RT Supervisor. The IRT II will work alongside the lnterventional Radiologist and RN to assist in the performance of diagnostic angiographic procedures as well as complex vascular and nonvascular interventional and therapeutic procedures. He/she is responsible for obtaining all equipment needed for a procedure, positioning and imaging patients, resolving equipment issues, and demonstrating knowledge of human anatomy, radiation safety, interventional supplies and equipment operation to include fluoroscopy, US, and CT. The IRT II must prepare, administer, and document contrast given throughout procedure. Responsible for corroborating a patient's clinical history with procedure and ensuring information documented and available for use by clinician. Using their patient care skills, he/she must provide good communication, patient assessment, and patient monitoring. The IRT II is responsible for post processing digital data for display or hard copy records, ensuring technical quality and proper identification is evident. Periodic weekend and off hour call will be required.Entity

Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology. Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
