We’re looking for a Development Officer to join our team!
In this role, you’ll be responsible for advancing the organization’s fund-raising efforts by identifying, cultivating and soliciting current and deferred gifts.

What you’ll do:
- Advance the organization’s fund-raising efforts by identifying, cultivating and soliciting current and deferred gifts, using standards established by ALDE, the National Society of FundRaising Executives, the ELCA and the LCMS
- Implement strategic donor and prospect relationship plans as assigned, or as developed in coordination with Senior Vice President of Mission Advancement and other internal partners
- Coordinate with agencies in their fund-raising strategies, plans and efforts
- Maintain effective, accurate and comprehensive electronic records
- Advise supervisor of opportunities for developing current and deferred giving initiatives and innovations
Preference to reside in Illinois, Indiana or surrounding areas as this position will support these areas
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexibility
TRAVEL: Some
SALARY: $80,000 - $95,000
You should have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising, with a proven track record of success in development and gift solicitation.
- Minimum of five years of direct fund-raising experience in closing current and deferred gifts.
- Familiarity with developmental disabilities and the Lutheran Church is preferred.
