POSITION SUMMARY:
The purpose of the egg receiving person is to ensure the proper delivery, shipment, and customer service required to maintain and continue business expectations from a premier egg products company. Drivers, management, and coworkers benefit from the work done by this person who ensures shipments are loaded/unloaded, logged and disbursed in a timely manner.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Confirm and log items and supplies received, material numbers, weights, and quantities on pallets.
- The ability to complete the placement/removal process from the dock to the proper location with the use of power jacks (rider jacks) according to manager instruction.
- Weigh skids of eggs.
- Maintain the sanitation processes and general good housekeeping for the area and follow the GMP’s to achieve a clean and safe workplace.
- The ability to determine if product meets proper specifications or not and take corrective action as needed.
- The paperwork required for the position
- Maintain security inside and outside the area.
- Assist in other areas as needed.
- Expected to adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained in order to maintain SQF Level 3 certification. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- No prior education or training required.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Certification
- Driver’s license
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- The ability to obtain Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) certification
- Self-motivation and the ability to work independently with little supervision
- The ability to work a flexible work schedule with varying hours.
- The ability to work in a cool environment for entire shift.
- General reading and verbal skills
- Good communication skills
- Basic arithmetic skills
- Basic computer skills
- The ability to learn the sanitation processes, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and Safety regulations for the area
- Wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the area
- The ability to learn department procedures, to insure a safe and productive flow of product.
- The equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential duties.
