Location Description: Michael Foods, Inc. located in Gaylord, Minnesota is Minnesota's Healthy Heartland! Gaylord is located in south central Minnesota about an hour west of the Twin Cities and 35 minutes from Mankato, Hutchinson, and New Ulm. As the County Seat, Gaylord is the "Hub of Sibley County." Our location produces liquid egg, hardcook egg, and precooked egg such as scrambled, patties and omelets. Responsibilities:
POSITION SUMMARY:
HR Representative will be cross trained in various areas of HR responsibility but will have specific focus areas. HR duties include administrative duties, assisting employees, involvement with employee recognition and events, benefit enrollment, recruitment/orientating, retention, compliance, communications, etc.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for coordinating orientation
- Responsible for administrative duties of the company Attendance policy.
- Responsible for tracking and coordination of benefit enrollments at new hire, annually and during status changes.
- Responsible for organizing company events and programs.
- Provides front facing employee relations assistance.
- Assist with recruitment, interviewing, hiring and orientation.
- Performs administrative duties as needed (answering phones, photocopying, faxing, etc.)
- Provide back-up to payroll functions as needed.
- Assist employees with questions related to benefits and employment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Associate degree (AA) or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
- Problem solving, communication, creativity, and interpersonal skills a must.
- Able to work in a team and people focused environment.
- Perform job responsibilities at a high level with little direction.
- Excellent computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Excellent oral and written skills.
- Able to present/train in group settings.
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Able to juggle a multitude of tasks.
- Must be professional in dealing with personnel issues including confidential information.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
- Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Somali preferred.
- 1-2 years FMLA/Leave of Absence Administration preferred.
