Location Description: Michael Foods, Inc. located in Gaylord, Minnesota is Minnesota's Healthy Heartland! Gaylord is located in south central Minnesota about an hour west of the Twin Cities and 35 minutes from Mankato, Hutchinson, and New Ulm. As the County Seat, Gaylord is the "Hub of Sibley County." Our location produces liquid egg, hardcook egg, and precooked egg such as scrambled, patties and omelets. Responsibilities:

POSITION SUMMARY:
Handles & inspects eggs before and after being broken to ascertain quality and fitness for consumption. Employee will be responsible for production and sanitation duties in the Breaking and Transfer Department and will be cross-trained in every area on the production floor and follow all company policies and procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspects eggs before and after they are broken and understands Egg Quality Standards
- Removes sour eggs, black rots, and bloods eggs off of breaking lines.
- Rotates to cleaning position to help maintain a clean breaking room in accordance to USDA standard by keeping egg off the floor and breaking machines clean.
- Removes full pails of egg and dumps them in an inedible chute.
- Inspects eggs by identifying dirty ones and removing them from the production line and placing on flat.
- Removes broken eggs and shell particles from the production line and dumps in pails and inedible chutes.
- Removes eggs coming out of the washer, checking for dirt and leakers, removing them from the lines before they go to the breaking machines to comply with USDA regulations.
- Learn and follow the correct cleaning procedures and safety requirements.
- Ability to clean all parts and equipment and put them back together.
- Obtain general information on every area of the production floor.
- To follow all company procedures and policies.
- Ability to follow instructions from the leads and supervisors.
- Fill out all required paperwork at the end of the shift.
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
- Ability to perform Quality Assurance duties for Egg Candling and HACCP requirements for Egg washing and sanitizing.
- Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s & SQF requirements, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE REQUIRED:
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Ability to follow instructions from the leads and supervisors.
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Good Hand to Eye Coordination.
- Successful completion of yearly LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) Training and yearly Chemical Training.
