Job SummaryPosition is responsible for managing marketing, advertising, public relations and/or communications strategies for assigned system services, facilities and/or programs. Position assists in planning marketing and communications strategies to support overall Memorial Hermann goals and objectives.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelors degree in marketing, business, health care, public relations, journalism or related field preferred; In lieu of Bachelors degree, must have an Associates degree from an accredited art institute
Licenses/Certifications: (None)
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
- Three (3) years professional experience in marketing and/or public relations
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Proficient computer skills
Principal Accountabilities
- Proactively builds the reputation of Memorial Hermann by developing and implementing communications strategies, initiatives and tactics to drive local, regional and national media story placements focused on healthcare service lines and priority business initiatives
- Works collaboratively with the Director, Corporate Communications, corporate and hospital marketing directors, and other identified groups to achieve plan objectives.
- Works closely with Marketing counterparts to develop strategic, comprehensive media plans
- With the Director, Corporate Communications, sets and maintains Memorial Hermann's graphic and editorial standards.
- Proficient in pitching stories to media, locally and nationally.
- Excellent writing skills including press releases, blogs, media pitches, social media.
- Excellent project management and ability to develop and implement project plans to support department and business goals.Works closely with Marketing counterparts to develop strategic, comprehensive media plans.
- Ensures quality, consistency and proficiency in writing. This includes press releases, blogs, media pitches, social media, etc.
- Works collaboratively with the Director on project management and the development and implementation of detailed, strategic department goals.
- Experience in crisis communication is a must.
- Develops and manages short- and long-term media relations objectives to capitalize on identified opportunities.
- Promotes teamwork and a spirit of cooperation among the media relations team staff, as well as with the other departmental divisions.
- Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
- Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
