This position leads the Network engineering team along with the associated technologies and services that fall within the teams’ scope of responsibilities. This role leads the engagement and working relationship with service provider partners to plan, manage and execute the work functions in the teams span of care. Additional scope of this role includes selecting, developing, and managing team engineers and domain architects. The manager defines and develops associated support processes, procedures, and helps define metrics to ensure infrastructure SLAs are met to support the company’s information system requirements and business and technical objectives. This leader also interacts with Infrastructure Architects, Enterprise Architects, and IT Leadership to ensure that technology solutions are utilized effectively and meet organizational requirements. Lastly, the role maintains a strong relationship with Development and Support teams to deliver Infrastructure as a utility.

What You'll be Doing:
- Manages team members and managed service provider to design, validate and develop architecture for assigned technologies, including lab, testing, proofs-of-concept, DRP’s and interaction with production implementation teams.
- Responsible for the retention, motivation, and training of the team members in their Span of Care.
- Infrastructure budget administration and forecasting. Vendor contract management.
- Defines and articulates a technical vision that coincides with business and technology planning processes, with acloud-first focus.
- Ensures Meijer team and vendors are aware of Meijer IT processes and procedures (e.g., Incident, Change, Release Mgt., processes and procedures).
- Ensures Meijer team and vendors are aware of infrastructure, architectural, security, and other Meijer IT standards.
- Builds and maintains policies and SLA’s for team and system performance, and holds vendor partner accountable.
- Develop team processes and practices to improve performance and efficiency.
- Implement and maintain IRAM processes within Network engineering team.
- Ensures stable performance of technologies.Works continuously with vendor partner and production support teams to maintain and improve technology performance and return on investment.
- Builds and maintains effective communications with all levels and teams within ITS.Ensures that team members maintain good communications with support and development teams.
- Acts as liaison between vendor partners and Meijer IT and Business leadership in crisis management situations that involve one or more affected technologies.
- Works with vendor partners to ensure that team members stay abreast of new technology developments.Including training, seminars and distance-based learning activities.
- Acts as leadership liaison between Meijer Infrastructure and assigned Agile trains to ensure support,alignment, and remove roadblocks.
- Acts as Agile Product Owner for assigned technical tower within Infrastructure to provide guidance on priorities and overall technical direction.

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business Information Systems, Engineering, Telecommunications, or related discipline or equivalent work experience and technical training is required.
- 8+ years of related experience in IT infrastructure environments supporting LAN/WLAN/WAN, Security Engineering & Telecom service providers.
- 8+ years of related experience in technical services for Network Engineering displaying strong technical skills across LAN/WLAN/WAN and Network Security.
- Broad range of telecommunications, network, and desktop knowledge is desired, including from among the following: Routers, Switches, Ethernet, WAN Technologies, TCP/IP, IP, cloud networking, both hybrid and pure bred (Azure).
- Experience or knowledge of guiding and building automation functions to replace manual processes across the network product space.
- Experience and ability to engage vendors to review service offerings, determine optimum solutions and negotiate agreements for Meijer use of said technology.
- Experience overseeing managed service agreements and ensuring adherence to documented SLA’s.
- Experience with all sizes of projects in a cross-functional environment.
- Experience in effectively communicating with a broad base of end-users and multiple management layers; effective interpersonal skills.
- Experience in multi-platform network environments.
- Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: - Ability to articulate a technical vision that fully supports the overall business planning process.
- Demonstrated experience in effectively managing large projects in a cross-functional environment.
- Strong mentoring skills for teamwork, team member development and interdepartmental communications.
- Knowledge of agile development methodologies (experience and certification with Scaled Agile Framework a plus).
- Experience, planning and goal setting to define, prioritize, schedule, and monitor multiple technical projects and providing senior management with accurate and complete status information.
- Strong technical and non-technical communication skills.
- Solid understanding of the enterprise business and business processes; awareness of business unit functions and cross group dependencies/relationships.
- Good judgment and analytical skills as well as follow up and organizational skills.
