General Summary of Position
Unit HighlightsAs an NPD Specialist at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center, you will be responsible for the assessment, planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of learning and development programs that enhance associates’ performance and promote professional development. These activities include onboarding/orientation, competency management, education, professional role development, career coaching, and collaborative partnerships. This position centrally reports to the Director of Professional Development and is expected to be on campus Monday – Friday with occasional remote working opportunities at the discretion of the Director.As the Medical-Surgical NPD Specialist, you will be responsible for contributing to the achievement of established department goals and objectives for the following units – 3West (25 – bed Neuro/Oncology/Hospice), 4East/West (32 – bed Medical), and 5West (15 – bed General Surgery). You will collaborate with Nursing Informatics, Nursing Practice, and other stakeholders to develop educational initiatives. Key Responsibilities
As a Clinical Nurse you will deliver proficient nursing care to patients and families whose needs range from uncomplicated to highly complex. You will identify current and potential complex problems of specific patient populations and critically analyzes trends and changes in patient status and plans appropriate interventions directly or indirectly through other nurses.
