Job Summary:
Responsible for providing high-quality patient service, and clinical support throughout the Perioperative continuum. Supervises the daily operation of all transportation services at MSCL. Assesses, plans, and coordinates transportation services for patients. Assists with room/bay turnovers in the QRs, Procedure Rooms, and Preop/PACU. Assists the supply chain staff by unpacking deliveries of supplies, restocking fluids and blanket warmers, takes dirty laundry to soiled linen room.
Primary Duties:
- Acts as department liaison/point person for patient transport. Establishes and maintains communication within the department.
- Maintains ongoing communication with the perioperative continuum to review programs, provide feedback, discuss new developments, and exchange information.
- Ensures the delivery of quality services for patients and in areas of operations.
- Exhibits working knowledge and expertise of current policies and procedures and consults with associates concerning interpretation and administration of such.
- Manages and coordinates daily activities regarding transporting of patients with workload requirements and available personnel.
- Assists with ensuring equipment is in proper working condition. Responsible for maintenance of department facilities in a condition to promote efficiency and the health, comfort, and safety of patients and staff. Reports malfunctioning or safety hazards of transport equipment.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Strong knowledge of employee relations issues preferred.
- 1-2 years 2 years’ experience in multi-specialty environment. Required.
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required.
