Medical City Healthcare - Division Float Pool
12 week assignments
POD Locations: Dallas, Denton, Lewisville, Las Colinas, McKinney, Plano, Frisco
Full-time
6 shifts/pay period (12 hour shift)
Holidays: 2 Major (1 Summer and 1 Winter) and 2 Difficult to staff
Rate: $48/hour
Major Holidays:
- Summer Holidays—Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day
- Winter Holidays—New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day
- Difficult to Staff—Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, New Year’s Eve, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Valentine’s Day, Halloween
Weekend Shifts:
- Friday night, Saturday day and night, and Sunday day and night shifts.
- Full-time staff are expected to work four weekend shifts per 4-week schedule.
- PRN staff are expected to work two weekend shifts per 4-week period.
On-call per facility requirements during schedule period assigned to include holidays if required.

Job Summary and Qualifications
Performs superior quality CT scans under the guidance of a Radiologist on all ages. Maintains a safe and therapeutic diagnostic radiological environment based on practice standards, radiation safety guidelines that include monitoring. Supports and helps achieve departmental goals. Effectively participates and promotes Excellence Always to include service recovery. Maintains accountability for professional decisions and actions according to policies, procedures and guidelines of Medical City Healthcare (MCH).
What You Will Do In This Role:
- You will provide high quality diagnostic CT imaging.
- You will maintain appropriate records.
- You will educate patients and family.
- You will prepare room, equipment, medicine and materials as needed for patients.
- You will clean and disinfect CT room and equipment.
- You will observe proper radiation safety techniques on all exams.
- You will prepare patient for CT – explain procedure, transfer patient to table, position patient and assist patient at the end of the procedure.
- You will process image in accordance with industry standards and appropriate techniques.
- You will adjust equipment; determine proper KVP, MA and desired exposure time; position patient; adjust lead shield; and select proper image protocol.
- You will observe patient and machine during procedure and report unusual occurrences and record patient’s condition.
- You will maintain stock supplies and perform general office duties, (i.e., proper charge codes, procedures completed).
- You will inspect and report radiographic equipment and room for any malfunctions within his/her shift.
- You will transport patient as necessary.
- You will take appropriate measures to ensure safety of patients.
- You will efficiently operate PACS.
- You will perform Point of Care Testing for Urine HCG and Creatinine.
- You will calculate GFR.
- You will follow proper procedure for infection control.
- You will positively identify the correct patient prior to the performance of CT procedure utilizing 2 patient identifiers.
- You will participate in ACR Accreditation activities and adhere to guidelines and requirements as indicated.
- You will be on time and ready to work scheduled hours which are essential job functions.
- You will deliver customer focused care utilizing the Excellence Always Standards to include transport of patients as necessary to facilitate optimal patient care/flow.
- You will as required, takes call. Must be able to take call restricted to a 60-minute response time and work on hospital holiday.
- You will assist with other duties as assigned by the AVP/Director, Imaging Manager, Supervisor and/or Lead Tech.
- You will serve as a clinical resource to department staff, students, volunteers and other departments, and contribute to the teamwork essential to ensuring quality patient care.
- You will provide excellent customer service to our patients, visitors, staff and co-workers.
- You will assist associates promptly and courteously.
- You will perform all CT procedures on patients between the ages of infancy to Geriatric.
- You will attend staff meetings, in-services, and facility town hall meetings.
- You will complete educational activities as assigned on-time.
- You will support the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
- You will be willing to float between designated facilities within assigned pod.
What qualifications you will need:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Graduate of an approved School of Radiology Technology
- Minimum 12 months experience within an acute care hospital or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- MRT (Medical Radiologic Technologist) license with Texas
- Registered with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
