Summary
JOB SUMMARY: As part of the George Washington University Regional Medical Campus at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, Standardized Patients (SPs) are trained to portray patient situations, serving as models for students learning medical competencies. They perform standardized cases, including non-invasive physical exams, and assess learners from a patient/family perspective, providing objective feedback and using checklists or debriefing sessions as directed by faculty. SPs receive training in physical examination techniques, communication competencies and evaluating and giving constructive feedback to learners.
*SPs must be willing to maintain availability and flexibility to be "cast" for upcoming SP events based on specific case profiles requested by faculty with a 4-hour minimum required per agreed SP session.*
REQUIREMENTS: Entry level knowledge; basic employment skills; High School diploma: GED equivalent or High School certificate. Less than 1 year of experience; prior SP or acting experience required.
