Leidos employees enjoy great benefits such as paid time off (PTO), flexible schedules, discounted stock purchase plans, career growth, unlimited education and training support, parental paid leave and more! You will have the opportunity to work under the best leadership in the industry at all levels, where supporting their employees and what they do is what matters.
This position requires a current and active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance. We do not have the ability to sponsor candidates for clearance processing.
Our National Security Sector is seeking multiple Network Engineers for task orders which are pending award within an established and funded enterprise IT program. Our goal is to identify qualified candidates immediately so we can fast-track offers and onboarding as soon as the positions are added to the contract. Positions will work at client sites in northern Virginia, remote and hybrid work is not available.
We are seeking subject matter expert Network Engineers who fall into one of three subject matter expert (SME) categories:
For network/system engineering of complex networks positions, our client designs, builds, and maintains all of the client’s production acquired mission infrastructure and associated data storage and test networks which support ongoing requirements. The client requires support specializing in network and cloud engineering of complex networks. The work may be performed independently or within a team environment. The client requires polished skills in network architecture and cloud services while managing a moderate workload of aforementioned architecture and cloud service documentation. Work will include engineering and designing updates to current virtual and physical network and future innovation builds. The selected candidates will create new updates and features to improve performance with current network infrastructure; create technical documentation in support of design network infrastructure; and provide O&M and support for the client’s network infrastructure.
For cloud network engineering of complex networks positions, the client requires network/system engineering support to maintain, design and deploy both on-prem and cloud architectures. The work will require collaboration between multiple stakeholders and will require management of multiple systems. The Network Engineer will support network and Hyper converge infrastructure (HCI) deployment; support system accreditation; and provide support for designing, engineering, implementing, and maintaining on-prem enterprise quality mission systems, networks, and applications for cyber-related investigations. They will analyze customer requirements and provide technical expertise on on-prem cluster computing techniques and technologies; engineer, implement, and maintain a fault tolerant, highly redundant mission network; and technical oversight of a project solution, including requirement interpretation and allocation of requirements to technical components. The Network Engineer will support processes to implement requirements; follow cyber security best practices in the development and implementation of the system(s) designs that provide the best mission performance at optimum cost in both initial outlays and O&M; and define internal and external customer IT infrastructure architecture needs and then provide solution options to meet those needs to include, capacity planning, systems configuration, tuning, monitoring, backups, hardware and software installations. They will work independently with little supervision and should be flexible to work and support IT Operation needs as requested and create functional design specifications, architectures, and render support with other project deliverables.
For network engineering with digital forensics positions, the client requires support specializing in network engineering and digital forensics to assist with continuous monitoring of IT systems that are required to sustain client accreditation of these systems; coordinate engineering projects including performing technical risk assessment, de-conflict implementations, and resolve technical questions or conflicts; and deploy and maintain network systems. The Team will diagnose network issues and follow troubleshooting procedures for restoring the network to optimal performance levels and gather performance and utilization metrics from infrastructure components and proactively inform the client when defined thresholds are met. They will guide networking engineering efforts in the hardware, software, and virtual infrastructure domain; maintain up to date network topology drawings; and perform moderately complex network designs and upgrades using existing technology with limited guidance. The team will perform Tier-3 engineering and support for virtualization infrastructure, consisting of virtual servers, virtual desktops, and automation solutions and plan network configurations for integration into the network, using knowledge of the performance characteristics of the systems being added to the network and the specifications for network interfaces to insure effective integration and optimal network performance. They will prepare technical proposals for presentation to engineering review boards to make changes or add new technologies to the network and provide system documentation to the system security managers to support A&A efforts. The Team will review user requests for upgrades or additions to the network to assess impact on network performance; shepherd and perform engineering efforts in the areas of Windows and Linux servers, workstations, storage, and virtualization; support network life cycle stages such as design, configure, test, deploy, and maintain; and utilize network analysis tools to identify performance problems in the network. They will diagnose and resolve technical problems with overseas populations; direct or perform the installation of IT infrastructure as well as the installation and configuration of operating systems and applications; and inspect and test all equipment prior to deployment to respective overseas locations. The team will also make recommendations on the best deployment strategy, considering the client’s business priorities for any application or tool; provide end-to-end support of field network and forensic capabilities; and provide real-time and 24/7 on-call support to worldwide users. They will provide Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other integrated documentation to support the success of field users and the program; provide technical support to various client developed and COTS forensic application developers ensuring the integrity of data flow and enhance business efficiency and insights; and research and recommend systems, equipment and technologies to improve and enhance existing systems. Additionally, the team will use application deployment guides and information from application developers to determine the most efficient and performant IT infrastructure components to deploy a particular application.
