The Health Solutions Business Area within the Health & Civil Sector at Leidos has an immediate opening for a Business Manager in our Reston, VA GHQ office location.
POSITION SUMMARY:

The Business Manager provides an opportunity to work directly and collaboratively with the Health Solutions Business Area staff and support functions to execute the operation’s business rhythms, be exposed to the breadth and depth of the Business Area’s programs, pursuits, growth strategies, and other activities, as well as support projects that support both the Business Area and Sector’s business plans. In addition to helping ensure the smooth business rhythms of the Business Area, the business manager will particularly focus on ensuring the successful execution of the day-to-day operations of the organization. This role will report directly to the Business Area Leader.
The Business Manager will be assigned special tasks from time-to-time that involve cross-business or cross-company responsibilities. These special tasks may include such things as helping the Business Area implement new policies, solving difficult/complex problems, responding to special data calls, and collaborating with other Leidos Business Areas and Sectors.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure the business area meets financial and operational business targets; define and set long-term and short-term business objectives that are aligned with the overall company objectives; and execute appropriate business rhythms and processes necessary to achieve short and long-term objectives.
- Manage the daily internal operations and functions of the business
- Lead the preparation of presentations and briefings both internally and externally for the Business Area Leader
- Lead communication efforts across the Business Area
- Develop strong partnerships across the Business Area P&L and functional leadership (e.g., Finance, HR, Engineering, Contracts, Sub-Contracts, etc.)
- Work with Business Area leads and senior technical staff to develop and execute strategy-to-action plans
- Support key bids within the Business Area with connecting program teams with CTO organization
- Plan, execute, and manage internal and external-facing communications initiatives.
- Directly collaborate with Business Area leadership and assist in developing presentations, speeches, and other important internal and external-facing messages
- Effective execution of miscellaneous projects related to business area and sector priorities
- Support M&A, organizational realignment endeavors and integration of internal and external resources for optimal effectiveness
- Serve as a mentor across the Business Area by providing program management leadership and guidance.
- Provide solutions that drive business acumen across the Business Area and Sector.
- Track and drive AOP across revenue, OI, submits and awards, ensuring partnership with Business Area and Sector leaders
- Partner with Business Area program managers to ensure that performance is managed at the program level, within budget.
- Lead problem solving activities that affect programs across the Business Area.
- Lead or participate in program execution reviews, capture process reviews, and proposal color reviews.
- Partner with BD & proposal teams, leading and supporting captures, providing proposal writing and managing the administration of processes across all bids
- Align closely with HR and Compensation to streamline offer processes and efficiently secure top talent.
- Participate in employee engagement and retention efforts, partnering with HR and leaders to provide solutions across the Business Area
- As needed, act as representative for the Business Area Leader, approvals as directed.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with 15+ years of prior relevant experience or master’s with 13+ years or prior relevant experience. Additional years of related experience, training, and/or certification may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
- Practical knowledge leading a P&L operation, including direct interaction with executive leadership.
- Significant proven history of successful program management
- Proven ability to support and extend a culture where employees are motivated to succeed through collaboration, commitment, and clear and open communications.
- Demonstrated ability to support and promote Diversity, Equity & Inclusion across an organization.
- Skilled with attracting and retaining the best talent to build a high-performance team
- Ability to build cross-organizational and geographically dispersed teams with collaborative work styles and common desire for performance excellence and customer service.
- Relevant experience supervising or leading teams or projects.
- Deep working knowledge of the government contracting industry.
- Demonstrated history of personnel leadership, collaboration, executive communication, political acumen, relationship building, and self-motivation
- Ability to travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in leading program execution functions that ensure excellent delivery of products and services to customers.
- Experience in federal healthcare
Pay Range:Pay Range $131,300.00 - $237,350.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
