The evolving Cyber landscape requires research and development of emerging technologies to imagine the future state of the art of CNO capabilities that advance the Cyber mission.
The Leidos Office of Technology supporting the Cyber & Analytics Business Area (CABA) is seeking a creative Principal Cyber Researcher & Developer to join a diverse team of researchers contributing to an internal research and development portfolio focused on CNO.
The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in the areas of Vulnerability Research, Reverse Engineering, Software and Hardware Engineering, AI/ML, and Advanced Networking to solve some of the most challenging problems in the Cyber domain.
This critical role will help chart the future direction of Cyber for Leidos and CABA and requires an individual who can effectively communicate and convey complex technical concepts, ideas, plans, and progress to colleagues, stakeholders, and customers as discoveries are made and challenges are met.
**This position allows for remote work, but the ideal candidate will be able to work partially onsite in Reston, VA or Columbia, MD**
Primary Responsibilities:•Reverse Engineering and Vulnerability Research.•Researching novel hardware or software based CNO capabilities.•Applying knowledge of security concepts and networks.•Exploring systems to devise new features, vulnerabilities, and techniques.
Minimum Qualifications:•Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering with 12 to 15 years of relevant work experience focused on low-level development and CNO.•Experience in system-level programming or development of embedded systems.•Proficiency in C/C++ and Assembly for x86, PowerPC, MIPS, or ARM.•Expertise in reverse engineering hardware, firmware, and software.•Experience utilizing and extending Ghidra, IDA Pro, Radare, Rizin, or Binary Ninja.•Experience in vulnerability research and the application of fuzzing tools.•Knowledge of network programming and protocols.•Experience using commercial or open-source signal and protocol analyzers.•Scripting experience with Python, Ruby, or JavaScript to generate and demonstrate prototypes and proof of concepts.•US Citizen with an active TS Security Clearance and willingness and ability to upgrade to TS/SCI with Poly.
Preferred Qualifications:•US Citizen and a TS/SCI with Poly Security Clearance.•Familiarity with various Linux distributions, Real-Time Operating Systems (e.g., VxWorks, Integrity, QNX) or POSIX compliant Operating Systems like Solaris or BSD.•Familiarity with advanced networking concepts and communications systems.•Experience with network test equipment i.e., Spirent/Ixia/Xena.•Understanding of platform virtualization and emulation.•Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning concepts.

Pay Range:Pay Range $122,200.00 - $220,900.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
