Leidos is looking for a high-performing candidate to provide program action officer expertise in support of the nation's nuclear deterrence mission with the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Office of Defense Programs (DP). Working with a highly collaborative team, the Program Action Officer supports the Federal Program Office with oversight of Production Modernization (NA-19), specifically the Depleted Uranium (NA-192.4) Program. Key support areas will include DOE/NNSA Coordination; Strategic Communications Support; Action Tracking; and Reporting Data, Statistics, and Analysis.
This is a full-time position onsite at the NNSA offices in Washington D.C. with a potential of 2 days of telework (after training) with some travel involved.
In concert with the Federal Program Manager and other team members, responsibilities will include:
- Serving as an interface between the NA-192.4 Program Staff, NA-192/NA-19 Leadership, internal NNSA Offices (e.g., NA-10/Defense Programs [DP], Congressional Affairs, Public Affairs), and external organizations, as necessary, (DoD, GAO, etc.) for engagements and information requests related to depleted uranium modernization topics.
- Assisting with daily operations of the NA-192.4 Front Office, including executing plans, schedules, assignments, and oversight of organization activities.
- Supporting the receipt tracking and closure of all internal and external tasks and correspondence.
- Analyzing each item received to determine appropriate dissemination for action, coordination, and/or information. Correspond with internal and external offices to clarify actions and negotiate deadlines. Assign suspense dates to each action.
- Developing and implementing the Program’s action item database or other platform that enables NA-192.4 leadership and staff to clearly consolidate and track action item status. Action items can generate because of site visits, monthly meetings, internal deliberations, program briefings, or other ad hoc program interfaces.
- Preparing periodic reports on action status and keep leadership aware of late, pending, and new actions and maintaining the Program’s action item database.
- Tracking important milestones and actions for NA-192.4.
- Providing timely verbal and written communications and consistently present information in a clear and concise manner.
- Drafting, writing, and editing reports, briefs, correspondence, and other documents.
- Ensuring that products are documented and completed in a professional and timely manner, and in conformance with DP, NNSA, and DOE policy and procedures, including compliance with managing classified information.
- Maintaining knowledge of DP, NNSA, and DOE policies and procedures.
- Participating in special projects as required.
- Absorbing broad objectives from management, then independently analyze, evaluate, and integrate solutions for complex and diverse problems.
- Managing classified and unclassified documents and records in accordance with NNSA policies and procedures.
- Researching and investigating new or improved business process and practices for application to the NA-192.4 Program.
- Performing a variety of complex, programmatic and technical support services involving data analysis, process analysis, program plan and policy development, and strategy development.
- Providing program management support in the preparation, coordination, evaluation, review and analysis of program execution plans and tracking, monitoring, and reporting of program-specific milestones.
- Delivering strategic communications in the form of talking points, assisting with preparation of intra/inter-agency briefing materials, and coordinating with cross-organizational programs as necessary to achieve program objectives.
Required Education, Experience & Clearance:
- Must have an active DOD Top Secret and/or active DOE Q clearance
- Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience
- Familiarity with NNSA Defense Programs and Weapons Activities ongoing efforts and scope
- Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
- Excellent attention to details and diligent adherence to deadlines and deliverables
- A high-level performer with the ability to be proactive and respond rapidly to changing conditions in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite with particular emphasis on word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet applications (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project and Program Management experience with DOE/NNSA, DOD, or other relevant agencies
- Experience in records management

Pay Range:Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00
