Leidos currently has an opening for a Technical Editor for the 363rd ISRW/365th Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Group at Nellis AFB. As a Technical Editor, assists in the production and review of intelligence products. This includes proofreading and editing, cataloguing, maintaining, and archiving technical publications in a variety of formats (to include hard copy and digital) including reports, manuals, briefs, guides, instructions, training materials, procedures, and related materials in support of USAF flying units.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Utilize knowledge of various writing, editing, printing and publication standards, techniques and technology to edit, organize, format, and produce tactics documents for worldwide distribution; to include drafting, editing, designing the AFTTP 3-1.Threat Guide, Threat to Aerospace Operations (TTAO) manuals, intelligence reports, intelligence analysis articles and pamphlets.
- Provide expertise in reviewing, analyzing, organizing, and formatting required technical material using word processing and web-based applications per established unit and Intelligence Community standards with respect to order, style, terminology, and sequencing.
- Work closely with production management and intelligence analysts to ensure intelligence publications are logical, comprehensive, and easy to understand when read by an author's peers or educated laypersons.
- Maintain cataloging systems and records, files, electronic media and archiving of information for publications.
- Remain current on new developments and/or technological advancements in technical writing, editing, and publishing.
- Attend local meetings and/or VTCs related to Squadron and/or IC production standards, trends, and procedures, and identifying changes to policy.
Basic Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field and and 3+ years’ experience editing professional documents, preferably technical documents. Additional experience and Education may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Must possess a current DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance single-scope background investigation.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite of applications
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Be able to multitask and deliver quality products within specified timelines.
- Ability to decide and act independently with minimal/no oversight.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous Air Force Military Intelligence Analysis experience desired.
- Experience with ICD 205
- Any previous AFSC 1N0 (Op Intel or All Source Intel exp or similar.
- Knowledge of computer graphics or other advanced technology to create interesting and appealing layouts, websites and animations; to include ability to create visual and web-based documents, illustrations, graphs, animations, displays, trade-show photographs, etc. to produce desired visual effects.

Pay Range:Pay Range $61,750.00 - $111,625.00
