Leidos is hiring for a Cartographer Team Lead in Washington, DC. Team leads are technical leads for contractor personnel in their functional area and SMEs in their labor categories. This position is contingent upon contract award.
What you’ll be doing:
- Provide senior-level expertise to team members, complete complicated or complex tasks independently, and lead or direct the work of contractor personnel assigned to their functional area.
- Design maps, graphics, illustrations, and layouts for Finished Intelligence (FINTEL) production.
- Communicate information using color, symbols, style, and other means in graphics and visualizations.
- Analyze and evaluate cartographic information to determine most appropriate data sources for FINTEL products.
- Research, select, and evaluate map source data for use in the preparation or revision of maps and charts to various scales.
- Employ modern cartographic development technologies such as, but not limited to, Map Publisher, ARC GIS, and RemoteView.
What does Leidos need from me?
- Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance required. Candidate will be subject to a Polygraph.
- Minimum 12 years of experience related to cartographer field with at least a portion of the experience within the last two years.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of the labor category activities required to meet mission requirements.
- Mastery of qualitative and quantitative analytic methodologies and pursue developments in academia or other fields that affect tradecraft methodology.
- Ability to define comprehensive, new, or unique research approaches that enable rigorous assessments to address and contribute to high-level tasks.
- In-depth analysis of analytic operations and knowledge management issues across organizational and intra-IC boundaries and clearly articulates key findings.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal oversight.
- Ability to review analytic products for cogent arguments, tradecraft standards, and adequate support for conclusions; routinely tests analytic rigor of analytic products.
Favorable if you have:
- Experience leading teams of 10-20 or more employees.
- Experience leading T&M TO contracts, as well as performance-based contracts.
- Ability to define problems, supervise studies and lead surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice and recommend solutions.
- In-depth knowledge and demonstrable experience with the intelligence production cycle, executive intelligence production, graphic design, web development, and data science and related technologies.
- Ability to review analytic products for cogent arguments, tradecraft standards, and adequate support for conclusions; routinely tests analytic rigor of analytic products.
- Experience in Graphic Design and Multimedia production, Web Development, Business Analytics.
- Desired Education: Master’s degree in an area related to cartography field from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education; or have Bachelor’s degree related to Cartography, Geography, Geomatics, Surveying Engineering, or a related field from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and an additional five years of related senior experience, for a total of 17 years, as a substitute to the Master’s degree.
Pay Range:Pay Range $98,150.00 - $177,425.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
