The Leidos DES (Defense Enclave Services) team is supporting an extensive digital modernization program critical to DISA and Fourth Estate Agencies and Leidos is seeking a Network Engineer Team Lead to manage network engineering requirement for Global IT operations based out of Ft. Meade, MD.
PROGRAM SUMMARY:
The Defense Enclave Services contract will unify the DOD Fourth Estate Defense Agencies and Field Activities’ common use information technology systems, personnel, functions, and program elements under the direction of DISA’s Fourth Estate Network Optimization program office. Responsible for operating and maintaining the infrastructure and network. This includes responding appropriately to alerts and events and responding to incidents from triage through resolution, including escalations, where appropriate. The candidate selected for this position will serve as the lead for the Network Engineer section of the Infrastructure Team. The candidate will also conduct infrastructure repairs, including directing remote activities to maintain operational effectiveness for services. Provide root cause analysis documentation in accordance with Government procedures. Provide management support for Authorized Service Interruptions, manage critical situations (service outages) and enterprise operations leadership where appropriate. Document daily shift activities in appropriate reporting and ticketing tools and ensure proper pass down of any outstanding issues. Provide incident notification to Government representatives.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
Must hold an active Secret security clearance. (US Citizenship required)
Primary Responsibilities
Provide leadership for network infrastructure team.
Oversee network design, integration, testing, security, and implementation.
Review engineering solutions for operational effectiveness and value.
Direct configuration baselines, versioning, and compliance tracking (STIG).
Champion continuous service improvement (CSI) initiatives.
Plan and execute network upgrades and maintenance with stakeholders.
Analyze network bandwidth needs and recommend solutions.
Lead technical development of infrastructure staff.
Oversee development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
Implement system performance tuning and enhancements.
Create and maintain engineering implementation plans (EIPs).
Bridge the gap between operations and engineering in meetings.
Ensure operational readiness for new solutions.
Participate in technical development discussions.
Supervise and implement network changes.
Present technical information to senior management and stakeholders.
Collaborate with NOC, change management, and other teams.
Provide Tier III escalation support and engage vendors for incident management.
Actively participate in root cause analysis for problem management.
Willingness to be on-site at DISA HQ at Fort Meade to resolve critical issues and ensure operational continuity
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in STEM or relevant field, or comparable experience with an additional 12 years or a Masters with 10 years of overall related experience. Experience should include extensive knowledge of routing and switching protocols (MPLS, VPNs, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, Spanning Tree Protocol, VLANs, LLDP, etc.) and network technologies (VoIP, Multicast, emerging technologies).
Minimum of DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certification required (CompTIA Security+ CE, Cisco CCNA Security, etc.).
Associate-level Network Vendor Certification from a major vendor (Cisco, Juniper, etc.) is mandatory.
Familiarity with ITIL service management framework is a plus.
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, including potential overseas travel (OCONUS).
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience supporting DISA Networks (highly desired but not required).
Demonstrated experience with NET/SEC DevOps practices.
IAT Level III Certification (CISSP or equivalent) for advanced security knowledge.
ITIL v3/v4 certification or training for service management best practices.

Pay Range:Pay Range $108,550.00 - $196,225.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
