Leidos is seeking a technology savvy and highly organized, detail-oriented individual to join our Saxton Lab Team as a Lab and Project Management Office (PMO) Administrative Support Specialist!
Our team operates the Federal Highway Administration’s (FHWA) Saxton Transportation Operations Laboratory (STOL), a USDOT research lab focused on the improvement of transportation operations, safety, mobility, and environmental impacts. As the Lab and PMO Administration Specialist, you will play a key part in the business operations and R&D program support activities of the Leidos team focused on connected vehicle research. At the Saxton Transportation Operations Lab located just outside DC, we advance connected and automated vehicle technologies for the FHWA by developing, testing, and demonstrating new capabilities associated with vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication. In this role, you will provide essential administrative support to our research lab and project management office, ensuring the efficient day-to-day operations and project delivery. The ideal candidate will possess strong multitasking abilities, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will collaborate with both program/project managers and engineers to anticipate administrative and business process conflicts, and work to resolve them in real time. Location: McLean, VA – 5 days a week
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Administrative Support and Human Resource Assistance
- Efficiently execute advanced administrative tasks in an on-site customer Research and Development (R&D) Lab and project management office environment.
- Assist with office logistics, such as procurement of goods and services, coordinating improvements to and maintenance of the office environment and testbed facilities, to support the lab and research activities.
- Support the Onboarding/Offboarding of employees.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and organized documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, project documents, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Communication and Coordination
- Serve as a central point of contact for internal and external inquiries, coordinating and redirecting communications as necessary.
- Handle email and telephone correspondence in a professional manner.
- Track and report program activities to multiple audiences (clients, public, internal management, etc.).
- Project Management Support
- Support a variety of technical projects with scheduling and facilitating meetings, workshops, and events, including preparing agendas and taking minutes.
- Assist with project management tasks, such as tracking timelines, milestones, and deliverables; coordination of archival records (e.g., past deliverables, calendars, schedules, etc.).
- Ensure document control, including managing and maintaining documentation, such as deliverables, reports, presentations, and proposals, within Leidos SharePoint and team collaboration tools.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, project management, or a related field, and at least 2 years’ experience working in an office environment, or High School diploma with 4 years of progressively challenging office experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Experience with SharePoint or other similar cloud-based team collaboration tools.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance which includes 3 years of immediate residency in the US.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass DMV background check.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.

Anticipated salary range for this role is $60,000 - $80,000

Pay Range:Pay Range $49,400.00 - $89,300.00
