Leidos has an immediate opening for a Solution Architect to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO.
In this role, you will help solve demanding challenges via technology, modernization, and transformation processes, and proven methods and solutions. As part of a creative, forward-thinking team, you will help shape solutions to make the world safer, healthier, and more efficient.
Working in the As a Solution Architect, you will work with subject matter experts to develop optimal and differentiated Leidos solutions to be delivered on Government Space Missile and Defense Command (SMDC), Space Development Agency (SDA), Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and Space Systems Command (SSC) programs. In addition to developing solutions, you will help the Government customer understand the value and benefits of the Leidos solution, explain technical features and transformation strategies, engage in proof of concepts, and troubleshoot potential problems.
As a solution architect for specific customers in the Colorado Springs, CO area, you will have the awesome responsibility and privilege to shape, define, and develop unique technical solutions for Electronic Warfare (EW) systems and programs from the infancy of the design process.
As part of our Win Plan framework for capture opportunities, you will enable Leidos to win new work by first having direct discussions with Customers to understand their key issues and needs, then
identifying early, key discriminators, and orchestrating Leidos’ solution from customer acceptance thru approval to proceed.
Primary Responsibilities
As part of this role, you will, provide expert design guidance for EW consisting of:
- Provide sound and consistent architectural leadership in shaping the technical design solution and strategy.
- Work with cross-functional product, business, and functional development teams across Leidos.
- Lead the capture of the system design requirements.
- Decompose high-level customer requirements into finer technical, functional and logical requirements.
- Facilitate identification of key technological differentiators that will enhance our product designs, enable a competitive edge, and increase the probability of a successful, deliverable product proposal that meets and exceeds the customer’s needs and leads to program wins
- Facilitate the design of the system architecture and technical road map for key product solutions. Engages with the development and production teams during program execution and offers oversight and review of requirements capture, validation and test coverage, as well as review of performance/results to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Enhance Leidos best practices.
- Review and incorporate lessons learned.
- Enhance technological approaches to research, design, and develop innovative solutions.
- Understand competitor, teammate, and customer technology strengths, weaknesses, and needs.
- Be the customer facing technical interface during product capture.
Basic Qualifications (Mandatory)
We’re looking for Solution Architects possessing the basic foundations aspects such as:
- Firm understanding of Electronic Warfare (EW) methodologies and employment of various countermeasures.
- Understanding of the fundamentals of Directed Energy used in the electromagnetic spectrum.
- Understand the various forms of electromagnetic spectrum used during Electronic Warfare.
- Firm understanding of Electronic Attack (EA)and various methodologies to disrupt, deny, degrade and destroy EA
- Firm understanding of Electronic Protection (EP) as it pertains to preventing a receiver from being jammed or deceived.
- Firm understanding of Electronic Support (ES) as it pertains to sensing the electromagnetic spectrum.
- Firm understanding and the unique differences employed between Surface, Ground, Airborne, and Cyber Electronic Warfare
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Aerospace, Mechanical, Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience related to product development, design, and validation.
- Extensive knowledge in multiple development languages, software development and system design best practices, robotic process automation, infrastructure and configuration automation, testing, tool integrations, and communication to enhance robotic process automation platform.
- Hands-on experience developing customer integration and reference implementations for complex logistics architectures.
- Awareness of leading technology capability providers that enhance our technical solutions.
- Experience as a solution architect and/or technical volume lead on captures and proposals.
- Experience articulating complex technical concepts to customers, business development, program delivery, technical teams, and executives, both orally and in writing.
- Experience with technical documentation and white papers in support of the requirements gathering process.
- Experience with system design, performance, or support issues and provide advice and recommendations to technical writing staff.
- Ability to work effectively remotely and in a team environment with other highly skilled individuals.
- Demonstrated experience with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) methods for tracking requirements and modeling complex systems.
- Experience in modern digital engineering tools such as Cameo, JIRA, Confluence, GitLab,
- Experience in modern digital methodologies such as Agile, SecDevOps, and Scrum.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- US citizen with an ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
We are looking for special talents that may consist of:
- 5-10 Years experience with Government Space Missile and Defense Command (SMDC), Space Development Agency (SDA), Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and Space Systems Command (SSC) programs.
- Experience with providing technical advice, assistance, and engineering services to military SATCOM operators and their managers. Provide telephonic support as required to help isolate and resolve difficult issues.
- Experience with Logistics Sustainment related systems.
- US citizen with an ability to obtain a Top-Secret security clearance.

Pay Range:Pay Range $108,550.00 - $196,225.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
