What you will do
Johnson Controls is seeking a self-motivated Senior Project Manager to join our HVAC & Commercial Refrigeration Control Systems product engineering team. You will serve as a leader for Engineering, Product Management and Project Management and will be an integral member of a team responsible to help design and support a variety of electromechanical control products including control valves, electronic actuators, sensors, refrigeration controls, and pneumatic control devices. If you enjoy working cross functionally to drive projects of various types, ranging from strategic portfolio modernization programs to new product development and sustaining engineering projects, then keep reading! This position is onsite at our HQ facility based in Glendale, WI. Candidates must be commuting distance, or open to relocation.
How you will do it
Manage strategic initiatives to modernize products, processes and operations, including manufacturing initiatives related to the respective products.
Manage the execution and delivery of new product development projects from inception through manufacturing and deployment.
Take a leadership role in coordinating the execution with cross functional teams on individual projects or broader programs.
Provide project and program updates to senior leadership team.
Partner with product managers and finance team to develop financial justification for projects/programs.
Participate in long range planning for the portfolio and the department
As a senior role this position is also expected to stay cognizant of current industry trends, competitive products, industry regulations, adjacent industries and evolving technology to help influence product roadmaps and strategies.
Work in concert with product management and engineering colleagues to develop and maintain product and technology roadmaps.
What you will need
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
8+ years of experience; 5 yrs of experience in a project and/or program management role for electromechanical products
Is well versed in product development, business and operational processes related to product engineering
Is very knowledge of the processes and technology involved in the design, testing and manufacturing of electromechanical products
Manages with a technical mindset and the desire to impact the business
Understands how individual products fit into a more comprehensive system
Enjoys traveling to suppliers, engineering centers or various manufacturing sites globally to work with local colleagues, teams and partners
Can develop and maintain relationships and execute programs with strategic Contract Mfg., ODM, JDM and OEM partners
