What you will do
Leads moderately complex projects that generally have been assigned a medium-to-high corporate priority. Organization, flexibility, excellent customer focus and strong communication are critical in performing duties presented.
Provides subject matter expertise in areas including project management, project scope definition, risk identification, project methodology, resource allocation, and facilitation. Maintains control of schedule, cost, safety, quality, and customer expectations/satisfaction at all times. Presents to management and/or customers on project updates, project cycle, and expected results. May manage vendor relationships throughout the installation. Ensures projects are closed on time and in scope.How you will do it
Project Managers are responsible for managing fire alarm, security and communications projects in commercial, educational, healthcare and industrial facilities, positively representing the Company in all client and architect/engineer interactions.
Methodology - Understanding of Project Management Institute's (PMI) methodology and key knowledge areas; Integration, Scope, Time, Cost, Quality, Human Resources, Communications, Risk and Procurement Management.
Focus on a safe workplace and embracing an absolute safety culture
Oversees and communicates project progression from inception to completion including design, permits, coordination, material delivery, labor schedules and field installation.
Conducts work in progress meetings.
Responsible for tracking projects expenditures and installation progress through reviews of status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules of plans as required. Maintains full financial accountability of the project; requires ability to forecast financial trends across project.
Understands and follows all published codes, standards and unique project specifications.
Manages and communicates with subcontractors to meet project schedules and deliverables.
Coordinates change orders and drives toward overall margin improvement on every project
Coordinates Johnson Control Fire Protection field personnel (electronic technicians and sprinkler fitters) with construction manager to meet project schedules and maximize utilization.
Provide monthly forecasts on project generated revenue and margin incorporating all risks and opportunities. Drives to meet or exceed monthly forecast.
What we look for
Bachelor's Degree or Associates Degree or equivalent work experience of at least five years in the construction industry
Expectation that Project Management Professional certification will be obtained within 2 years of employment in the position.
Ability to read and understand complex building architectural, mechanical and electrical documents.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize among assignments with a strong adherence to deadlines.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, both with internal and external customers.
Possess a strong and active working knowledge of MS Excel.
Knowledge of standards and applicable building codes preferred.
NICET Level II or higher preferred
Must be organized, detail oriented and self-motivating.
Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
Must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company requirements
Additional functions and requirements may be assigned by supervisors as deemed appropriate
and to meet the customer's needs.
