The Maintenance Supervisor role is based in Mason City, IA, and reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.
What you’ll get to do
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, and with company policies and procedures.
• Ensure equipment reliability through the execution of effective maintenance and preventative programs.
• Supervise and delegate work to the maintenance crew and on-site contractors.
• Deals with employee relations issues as they relate to employee performance, discipline issues, and local union issues
• Ensures effective conditions and utilization of manpower, machinery, and equipment.
• Administer an effective maintenance program for both plant and mobile equipment
• Plan downtime and organize crew and equipment for scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance; coordinate with the production department to prioritize work.
• Coordinate resources, manpower, and materials for new equipment installations.
Essential Experience and Skills
• 3-5 years of operations experience in the cement industry preferred. Supervisory experience in a unionized environment is preferred.
• Plant maintenance experience including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Welding and fabrication experience
• Experience operating heavy equipment
• High school diploma or GED. Post-secondary education in the areas of business or engineering or equivalent experience.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
• Technical knowledge of operations including products, trucks, plants, and mobile equipment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
Work Environment
• Role operates in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions.
