What You Will Get to Do:
Troubleshoot, repair, install and apply preventative maintenance systems on a wide variety of electrical equipment and processes either in the plant or within the dedicated shop, as directed.
- Replaces or repairs faulty electrical components of machinery, such as relays, motors, switches, printed circuit boards and position sensing devices. Rewires motors.
- Uses PC and PLC programming to troubleshoot process control issues for automated machinery. Calibrates instrumentation using programing devices.
- Troubleshoots and repairs variable speed drives, process analyzers and measuring equipment.
- Reads blueprints, schematic drawings and manuals to determine work procedures and diagnose problems. Will update prints to reflect field changes.
- Discusses operation variations with supervisors or other electrical and maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
- Installs power or instrumentation wiring and conduit for machinery and equipment.
- Uses standard hand tools, instruments and power tools as required.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations, and with Company policies and procedures.
Who We Are Looking For:
- Demonstrated experience working in a heavy industrial / manufacturing environment (5 years)
- Experience with cement manufacturing process is an asset.
- Valid interprovincial or Red Seal Electrician ticket - (Electrictian and Instrumentation)
- Dual ticket certification with Instrumentation is required
- System knowledge of HMI and PLC control systems
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical schematics, drawings and blueprints.
- Ability to solve practical problems and perform all technical aspects of the job using the appropriate tools or systems.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy loads, sometimes 50 lbs.
- Strong working knowledge of Health and Safety procedures.
- Fall Arrest, Confined Space Entry, First Aid and Forklift certifications are an asset.
- Able to work inside and outside in year-round weather conditions
- Requires climbing ladder or stairs, entering confined spaces, lifting, kneeling, working in dusty conditions, bending, twisting, pushing and pulling, working at elevated heights (125 ft man lift), at times in tight and awkward positions.
