For more than 118 years, Backus Hospital has been the primary source of healthcare services for much of Eastern Connecticut. We are home to the only trauma center in New London and Windham counties, and are the only area hospital with LIFE STAR helicopter services. Job Summary
The Nursing Talent Manager is responsible for attracting and efficiently hiring qualified and competent experienced registered nurses, new-to-practice nurses, and nursing support staff who embrace HHC’s mission and values. In collaboration with Talent Acquisition, manages and implements a nursing recruitment plan for assigned units at Backus and Windham Hospitals under the direction of Nursing leadership.
The Nursing Talent Manager utilizes his/her knowledge in contemporary nursing practice and care delivery systems to select appropriate candidates to meet current and future staffing needs. These responsibilities include the execution of the candidate selection process, screening and interview guides, applicant interviews and related correspondence, relationship building, and adherence to federal and state employment laws.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements• Knowledgeable in the scope of practice for multiple nurse specialties and structure of hospital departments• Knowledge of in the standards of nursing practice.• Knowledge of quality, safety and other processes in a healthcare setting• Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and excel).• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.• Demonstrates ability to gather and evaluate data, collate trends and report out findings.• Demonstrates leadership skills and a commitment to the delivery of patient care and services.• Knowledgeable in best practice interview strategies (i.e. behavioral interviewing)• Must be able to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.• The ability to work constructively with a diverse group of employees at all levels of the organization.• The ability to prioritize effectively and remain calm in a fast-paced environment• The ability to successfully illustrate the value and contribution of assigned area of responsibility within the department and across the organization.• Demonstrates decision making ability and resourcefulness to find appropriate solutions.• The ability to represent HHC Nursing within Hartford HealthCare, as well as outside of the organization.• Consistent deployment of the H3W Leadership Behaviors.
