Facilitates the overall development of the staff education and competency programs
In general, most of the time will be spent in the following activities:
· Develops/coordinates curriculum to meet learning needs of clinical staff and conducts competency testing based on annual needs assessment and strategic initiatives
· Identifies trends in the health care areas and develops/coordinates curriculum to maintain clinical competencies
· Collaborates with management to implement and evaluate programs ensuring clinical disciplines have the necessary clinical competencies
· Trains clinical staff to ensure proficiency in the organization’s EMR
· Assists management with developing and coordinating clinical orientations across affiliates
· Develops, facilitates and/or provides in-service offerings to assist clinical specialty service development and delivery
· Develops, facilitates and/or provides in-service offerings as needed to assist clinical disciplines in performing job functions and evaluates effectiveness of in-service programs and educators involved
· Assists in quality and documentation audits
· Acts as a clinical resource to staff and management
· Tracks education program attendance in order to monitor compliance with regulatory agencies
· Participates in quality assurance audit, committees & projects as needed
Qualifications
Education: Graduate of NLN-approved BSN program; Master’s Degree preferred. Background in nursing education preferred.
Experience: Three years clinical experience. Home care, clinical training and education background preferred
