The Hospital of Central Connecticut is an acute-care community teaching hospital, we provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services in general medicine and surgery, as well as a wide variety of specialties. We are looking for a Nurse Educator who will work closely to identify educational needs/opportunities within the department. This individual will possess a strong knowledge base in teaching and learning theories; curriculum design; methods for validation of learning and innovative options. Collaboration between clinical department leaders and education department, the Nurse Educator uses innovative technologies and strategies to strengthen critical thinking and problem-solving abilities of the learner. Creates an environment that promotes professional practice. The Educator coordinates, facilitates and provides a comprehensive orientation program for all new members of nursing services. Plans and/or conducts in services and mandatory education programs for hospital clinical staff as required by regulatory agencies. Promotes a culture that supports life-long learning and professional development for clinical staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or equivalent Master’s degree required. One degree must be in nursing.
- Three to five years of progressively responsible nursing experience.
- Candidates must show demonstrated leadership skills and a commitment to education as a methodology for promoting continuous quality improvement in the delivery of patient care and services.
- You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
