St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport has more than 3,200 employees. It includes a 473-bed community teaching hospital, a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and children. St. Vincent’s is the first hospital in Fairfield County to be integrated into the Hartford HealthCare network, and is the system’s second-largest hospital.
The Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator assists Pharmacy leadership in the development, implementation and maintenance of clinical pharmacy services to provide optimal pharmaceutical care in an appropriate, efficacious, safe and cost-effective fashion. The Clinical Coordinator also oversees the daily operation of Clinical Pharmacy Services and formulary management. Responsibilities include but, are not limited to the following:
·Evaluates drug literature by analysis of experimental design and methodology, in order to compare and contrast therapeutic regimens and roles for new drugs, serves as authoritative information resource on drugs and their utilization to promote optimal drug therapy for patients that is appropriate, cost-effective and maximizes clinical outcomes.
·Provides support to the staff pharmacists and clinical specialists as needed to ensure the optimal patient care with the most up-to-date clinical protocols.
·Participates in the Pharmacy clinical support team and in various multidisciplinary patient care committees, coordinates drug use evaluations, and engages in other projects as needed to enhance clinical pharmacy services and promote optimal patient care.
·In conjunction with Pharmacy Leadership, develops, implements and monitors metrics to the value of pharmacy clinical services
·Participates in system P&T Council and applicable system councils in the development of drug regimens, order sets, and protocols in areas of their expertise.
·Coordinates ongoing clinical education for Pharmacy Staff and other care givers
Qualifications
Experience:
·Three (3) or more year’s health-system pharmacist experience.
·One (1) or more years’ experience in a pharmacy leadership position or as a clinical pharmacist
Licensure, Certification, Registration
·Licensed as a registered Pharmacist in Connecticut or eligible to receive licensure within 45 days.
