For more than 118 years, Backus Hospital has been the primary source of healthcare services for much of Eastern Connecticut. We are home to the only trauma center in New London and Windham counties, and are the only area hospital with LIFE STAR helicopter services. JOB SUMMARYThe Patient Care Administrative Nurse Supervisor is an experienced Registered Nurse and is responsible for supervising and monitoring the Nursing department(s) on an assigned shift in accordance with nursing standards and practices as well as current Federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulations.
This position ensures the appropriate delivery of direct and indirect patient care via the utilization of the Nursing Process and creates a positive environment for the professional practice of nursing.
In addition, this position ensures activities foster continuous quality improvement to enhance patient care outcomes. This position also ensures patient flow throughout the organization.
This position provides leadership for multiple hospital departments in the absence of the unit manager, director, or administration.
Qualifications
