Overview:
We’re seeking a motivated Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our experienced team of clinicians who has a passion for patient care in the outpatient setting. This position will cover two locations; Willimantic and Storrs.
These sites are part of Windham Hospital’s outpatient department and offer an opportunity to treat a wide variety of patients alongside our growing team of physical therapists. Specialty programs include post-op orthopedics, musculoskeletal disorders, hand therapy (CHT), sports medicine, gait training, balance/fall prevention, neuro conditions, headache management, vestibular rehab, work injury rehab, and more!

Under the clinical supervision of a Physical Therapist, the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) administers Physical Therapy treatments to patients. The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) provides assistance to the Physical Therapist by supplying objective measures to be utilized by the Physical Therapist in evaluation of patient’s level of function and determination of treatment strategies.

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Works efficiently and organizes time appropriately. Ability to prioritize daily work assignments. Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate information. Basic computer skills (including opening/reading email, basic internet use). Proficient skills in windows based software (including word processing, database, spreadsheet and presentation programs). Working knowledge of Sate Practice Act and Federal Medicaid and Medicare regulations. Problem Solving and Decision Making Requires the ability to exercise discretion and use good judgment to perform duties promptly and consistently with little direction. Requires high level of analytical ability in order to gather and interpret information from various sources. Able to take the appropriate action in response to changes, circumstances or problems. Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
