The Hospital of Central Connecticut (THOCC) is a 414-bed, 32-bassinet, acute-care community teaching hospital with campuses in New Britain and Southington. The hospital was created with the 2006 merger of the former New Britain General and Bradley Memorial hospitals. Affiliated with the University of Connecticut School Of Medicine, The Hospital of Central Connecticut provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services in general medicine and surgery and a wide variety of specialties.
Established in 1988, the Hospital of Central Connecticut's Sleep Disorders Center provides diagnostic services and treatment for patients with all types of sleep disorders. Our multidisciplinary team includes, Board-certified Sleep Disorders Center physicians, registered technologists, specialists from neurology, pulmonary medicine. At the Hospital of Central Connecticut's Sleep Disorder Center, the rooms are similar to a comfortable bedroom. The center is equipped with private rooms that are sound and light controlled with individual temperature controls.
Sleep Medicine Advanced Practitioner Role Scope The Sleep Care Advance Practice Provider works a day time schedule in an ambulatory setting inside THOCC managing initial patient consultations, and on-going follow up visits to provide quality health care for Sleep Center patients. The Sleep Disorders advanced practitioner engages in independent decision-making regarding the health care of individuals, families and groups across the health care continuum, with primary focus on Sleep Medicine. As patient care demands, the APRN will collaborate with the Sleep Center’s Physicians, clinical and administrative staffs, the patients and their families to facilitate and improve patient care. The APRN will provide patient education to enhance their long-term health.

Qualifications
Advanced Practitioner Qualifications
·Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Master’s program
·Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Connecticut
·Certification, or eligible to be certified, as National Board Certification as an Ambulatory Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
·Sleep Medicine experience preferred
·Bilingual preferred, but not required
·Time will be split between two locations, New Britain & Southington
