Job Summary:
Leads a team responsible for managing the quality improvement and patient safety processes in local settings. Subject matter expert in clinical nursing practice, quality and management of complex conditions. Supports and facilitates both quality and clinical team relationships including care, risk, quality, and compliance work streams.
Job Responsibilities:
- Uses coaching methodology with individual staff, teams, and large staff groups to incorporate clinical core competencies to improve care.
- Integrate use of EBP and evidence-based management in care delivery to provide evidence to develop QI changes
- Support the Quality Safety Clinicians, coordinators, clinicians and Regional Directors in local teams
- Use QI tools to assess care such as apparent-cause analysis, failure modes and effects analysis, and plan-do-study-act, and coach staff in their use.
- Develops Interventions /processes to reduce errors during handoffs and workarounds.
- Coach staff to use SBAR (situation-background-assessment-recommendation) and provides guidance in applying the SBAR process to reduce errors and improve communication.
- Develops processes which incorporates patient rounds to improve patient-centered care and involve patients and families in reducing errors
- Understand the connection between QI and costs, and use this information to develop changes and push for changes with administration.
- Processes and reviews QI data to create opportunities to reduce hospital-acquired complications which demonstrate how nursing can improve care and reduce costs.
- Collaborate and coordinate with organization-wide QI staff to develop/review all processes involved in monitoring, delivery of care, regulatory requirements which impact agency care processes.
- Uses interprofessional teams effectively to reach improvement goals
- Provide quality care when providing direct care.
- Provides effective written and oral evidence-based clinical research to develop and propose changes in work processes and other changes to support an improved care environment
- Support patient risk management in which patient safety is a priority issue, working with staff to reduce injuries by identifying possible causes and solutions.

Education Bachelors Degree in Nursing |
