Responsibilities
The Medical Assistant Lead will assist HarmonyCares Primary Care providers and practice leadership in the daily operations of the practice, and is a member of the patient care team, assisting in the delivery, of primary health care in patient homes or residential settings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilties
- Provides a point of escalation to address patient concerns, patient complaints, and customer issues, both internally and externally
- Inventories and orders for necessary office and medical supplies
- Assists practice leadership with company vehicle fleet, including cleaning and proper periodic maintenance schedules
- Assists practice leadership with regulatory requirements maintenance
- Supports new team members through onboarding and training processes
- Identifies areas of quality and execution gaps for all team members and ensure appropriate remediation through coaching and feedback
- Collaborates with manager, teammates, and other HarmonyCares leaders to identify and implement changes that optimize the organization
- Supports and encourages teammates by fostering open communication channels as well as role modeling best practices
- Attends required meetings and in-services
- Serves as a member of the MA Governance Committee, and serves as a SME or representative for other departmental projects as directed by practice leadership
- Prepares daily route and drives physician to scheduled visits
- Prepares patients for examination and treatment
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Active CPR Certification
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record
- High School Diploma/GED
- Certificate of Completion from an accredited Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, EMT, related medical education/training program or 1 years of experience serving as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist
- Ability to multi-task while given competing priorities
- Ability to communicate in an empathetic, compassionate, and professional demeanor at all times
- Ability to analyze problems and resolve issues in a rapid, direct and complete manner
- Demonstrates short and long-term persistence in meeting objectives and personal development
- Ability to adapt to new systems and changes as required and apply guidelines/procedures
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Certified Medical Assistant
- Six months of experience in patient care, preferably geriatric care
- Strong Phlebotomy skills
